MANIFESTO

Studio Lauria is now part of FLOW, a network of designers who share ideas, experiences, and professional skills, multiplying them in the process. Our projects emerge from continuous dialogue and a desire to collaborate because working together means working better. The talent and abilities of each member combine to ensure the project achieves the necessary integration of expertise.

The future is a time and a place

Our work is situated in the future: what we design today will be realized tomorrow. Therefore, we like to define the future not just as time but also as space. Every project must consider possible future scenarios and the potential impact of unforeseen events, including uncertainties stemming from the times we live in. It is crucial to recognize signals that may influence the success or failure of a project.

In other words, we must balance resilience and flexibility to create spaces that have the durability needed to justify the investments made.

A fluid intelligence

To design the architecture of the future, we apply the principles of “fluid intelligence,” which is the ability to learn and adapt in order to offer tailored solutions to complex problems. To this end, we use digital tools, particularly Building Information Modeling (BIM).

We provide our clients with solid experience and the ability to develop solutions suited to each specific context, whether social or geographical.

Sustainability as a driver

We interpret sustainability as a responsibility that guides us in the choice of materials and technologies, creating architecture that ensures well-being, efficiency, and durability. This is also why we believe in the restoration, reuse, and enhancement of existing real estate heritage.
Sustainability represents a commitment to future generations by designing cities and buildings that, while being just as comfortable and captivating, are compatible with the need to protect the environment and respectful of the social contexts in which they are placed.

Elastic City

The rapid transformation of lifestyles, work models, production, and commerce demand the overcoming of current urban models and ‘closed’ spaces that are monotonous or self-referential. We need a paradigm based on adaptability, and we envision a city as a multiplication of experiences, relationships, and opportunities.
Dynamics and flexibility are two fundamental characteristics upon which urban space should be shaped. We believe that the city of today and tomorrow must, in a word, be elastic.

Made in Italy

Our heart is in Florence, and we are active throughout Italy, a country that has successfully combined the craftsmanship of artisans with industrial efficiency, creating the internationally recognized “Made in Italy” brand, in which we firmly believe.
Thus, when we design abroad, we combine attention to local specifics with the application of those values and qualities that have been passed down to us through a millennia-long history and an instinctive love for beauty.

Architecture Makers

A joyful architecture

We take the client’s desires to heart, designing custom architecture that relates to its context and adapts to the feelings and dreams of those who will inhabit it.
We believe that the design process should be an act of awareness, generating satisfaction and happiness for both those who create it and those who will benefit from it.
We love art and the colors we choose carefully; we are drawn to music and, at the same time, sensitive to the need to manage sound within the spaces we live in. We select materials and textures that engage both sight and touch; we measure light and enjoy the feeling of fresh air on the skin.
