Studio Lauria was commissioned to develop a plan for the removal of architectural barriers at the museums managed by the Bargello Museums institution, which includes, in addition to the Bargello National Museum, the Medici Chapels, the Church and Museum of Orsanmichele, Palazzo Davanzati and the Martelli Houses Museum.
The project is funded by the Ministry of Culture and involves the design of new street entrances, the adaptation of lifts (and, in the case of Orsanmichele, an external lifting platform), the construction or modification of ramps, and the adaptation of toilets. In addition, the project includes new formats for reception services and the management of installations, alarm signals and systems appropriate for cognitive, cultural and sensory disabilities as well as physical disabilities.
